SuperCoach : What's New in 2011

SuperCoach has changed again in 2011. The major change is due to 17 teams contesting the AFL this year.

-- Squad size increased from 30 to 33 players. Also, marquee players are slightly cheaper from 2010. In all likelihood, a budding SuperCoach would have merely added 3 rookies to the bench - in defence, midfield & forward.

Keep an eye on the price changes for a tactical difference this year. The price drop appears over-wrought. An extra champion or two should be squeezed into the team.

The positive of this change is that the starting price of champion players is moved closer to the real value. The cash value of rookies slightly diminished.

-- Four extra trades. Now 24 in the season. This is a very minor change, and should affect little. The extra trades may in fact be best spent early in the season. To bolster the bench, and adding extra playing rookies.

-- Competition begins in Round 1. This is a great change, although it is really due to bye rounds in the AFL. The first three weeks of previous SuperCoach AFL seasons were quite pointless. The single exception being a shot at the overall title.

-- Five leagues & a Facebook League. Have yet to try the FB league. Am very pleased with being able to be part of 5 regular leagues.
